After around half an hour the moment arrived regarding the signing off of the agreement by Edna. This is the part I’ve been dreading, we all have to sign the document handing power of attorney to me, agreeing that Mum is sound of mind.

Clarke pushed the paperwork across the desk for Prez and Edna to sign, all the time looking at Prez, smiling,

“Don’t worry Mr Sinclair, I’ve organised thousands of these, I know exactly how you are feeling.” Clarke smiled thinly. It was coded language to let Prez know that everyone in the room knew that Edna was not of sound mind, but that wasn’t how the game worked. The game worked by everyone agreeing a lie, so that Prez could control her estate. Edna could end up wherever she would end up and Mr Clarke and his organisation would get a nice fat fee.
